Ellah Abad is a mother of two, the owner of Purple N Pink by Sab, a KPop merchandise online shop (of which I am a proud customer), and a fan of all things South Korean. She is fearless, independent, and driven. She is also one of the most motivated people I know, and I am proud to call her a friend. I’ve seen what a hard worker she is, so it’s no wonder that she’s been able to establish such a successful online business. Ellah also enjoys traveling and hopes to go to South Korea someday – we are rooting for you!
Ellah embodies the true definition of an empowered woman.
Traveler Spotlight Questions
What made you start traveling?
It started when I got hooked with the Love Notes travelling, wherein you’ll trade love notes in their famous locations internationally from strangers anonymously. And with that, I was really curious about how it would feel if I personally go to places local and international.
What do you do for a living?
I’m an online seller of KPop merchandise since the pandemic arises. But prior to travelling, I was an Independent Beauty Consultant of Mary Kay.
What have been some of your favorite destinations? (Name at least 1-3 places)
So far, my favorite destination is Hong Kong because I was able to go to different beautiful places there as well as their food, and culture, and see native Hong kongnese. And it’s remarkable for me. Local places are Baguio and Ilocos Norte.
What has been the most interesting item of food you’ve tasted?
Hmmm.. definitely those foods from Cafe de Coral (Hong Kong). I can’t recall the names, but it’s really unique to me. haha!! Huge serving of food and budget-friendly. One more thing – having a Hong Kong hotpot is authentic. Also, those foods from Macau –from pastries to dimsum. Very satisfying.
If you could travel anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you go and why?
Need not to ask – South Korea!! Since I am a Kdrama lover & KPop fan as well, I’d love to see SoKor so much. I really wanted to experience everything in Korea – food, culture, fashion, stores, seasons, people, environment, to experience speaking in Hangul – literally EVERYTHING!
What do you do when you are not traveling?
Since I’m an online seller, I just stay at home almost 24/7. Focus on my selling – from taking orders to delivery of items. I’m also a single Fierce, mom of 2, so I see to it that I provide for their needs while sending them to school everyday. In addition to my kpop fangirling, I also attend some events, fan meetings, and concerts. haha!!
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learnt from traveling?
Before, I was so scared of being alone. Whenever I go out, I always tag along with my friends or cousins (even going to malls or markets). And ever since I went to Hong Kong, I realized that you really have to go out alone because not everybody has spare time to go out with you. You really have to be independent. You really have to learn to go out and date yourself alone. Nobody has the same interest as yours all the time.
Do you have any advice or tips for aspiring travelers?
Tips for travelling alone – always wear your confidence. Make sure you know where you are going and you know why you want to go there. Plan ahead from small details up to the highlights of your trip. Always consider thinking that it is your last.
How can people find you on the internet/social media?
I don’t have any SNS for my travels but I just upload all my trips on my private Facebook account so I can always look back on the memories of my travels.
