Low-Cost Valentines Gift: Love Notes from Around the World

Share

Looking for a heartwarming Valentine’s Day gift that won’t empty your wallet? Forget the usual chocolates and teddy bears this year, and surprise your special someone with a thoughtful gift they’ll never expect: a collection of love notes from all around the world! It’s a unique and meaningful way to show your beau just how much they mean to you. Let the power of love notes speak for itself.

A few months ago, I started working on a special project for my boyfriend since we’re in a long-distance relationship. I wanted to do something super meaningful, so I decided to collect love notes from strangers around the world to show him just how much I love and appreciate him. Sappy? Maybe, but it was totally worth it. He’s worth it.

So, what exactly is a “Love Note from Around the World?”

Well, it’s a love letter or message written by someone from a different country. These love notes often include references to famous landmarks or cultural elements, making them a little piece of the world that’s sent straight to your loved one, filled with affection and warmth.

Each love note reflects something unique about the sender’s country or region, like mentioning a local phrase, a famous landmark, or a cultural tradition. While the location adds a special touch, the heart of the love note is all about expressing deep love and care.

For example:

  • A person in Paris might write a love note, saying, “Grayson, my love for you is as tall as the Eiffel Tower.”
  • Someone in Japan could send a love note with a cherry blossom design, saying their love is as beautiful as the spring blooms.
  • An individual in Italy might write a note, saying, “You’re the only gladiator in my heart,” with a reference to the Colosseum.

These love notes from around the world are such a sweet and thoughtful way to send your love across the globe, all wrapped up in one heartfelt message.

Let’s all pretend Johnny Depp is my boyfriend *hyperventilates*

Okay. Where was I? Right. Okay…

How To Get Started?

1. Log-in to Facebook and join Love Notes from Around the World and Unicorn Love Notes. Be sure to read the ‘pinned post’. It contain rules and instructions on how ‘note-swapping’ works.

2. Decide what phrase you want. For example: Grayson, Paula’s love for you is so big it has reached (location).

3. You may also ask your social media friends to do this for you. Have them write the phrase in a piece of paper and take a picture of it outside with beautiful scenery.

4. Once you’re happy with the number of notes you’ve collected, decide how you’re going to present it. Some print the pictures and make scrapbooks, others print them as a magazines. You may also create a video or slide show. And there are those who post them in Facebook and Instagram.

I was able to collect 600+ Love Notes from all seven continents (including Antarctica), the seven wonders of the world, Harry Potter film locations, Disney theme parks, the top beaches in the world, all 50 states in America, and much more.

Here are some of the amazing love notes I’ve collected!

I’m so excited to share that I’ve collected over 600 love notes from all seven continents (yes, even Antarctica!), the seven wonders of the world, iconic Harry Potter film locations, Disney theme parks, the world’s top beaches, all 50 states in the U.S., and so much more! Each of these love notes brings a unique piece of the world, filled with heartfelt messages from across the globe.

I had an absolute blast working on this project, and he totally loved his little surprise. I sent him an album packed with love notes all the way to France, and I got to watch him on video call proudly show it off to his family. Win-win!
