About the SEÑORITA
Hi there, fellow adventurers! I’m Polly Amora, the señorita behind Golden Island Señorita. By day, I’m a driven manager in the fast-paced world of wholesale trade in Metro Manila, and by heart, I’m a globetrotter with a love for discovering new cultures, flavors, and experiences. Who says you have to choose between a thriving career and a passion for travel? Why not have both?
When I’m not sealing deals and traveling, you’ll find me writing, organizing, or pouring my travel secrets into this blog. From creating epic itineraries to sharing budget-friendly tips, Golden Island Señorita is where I combine my love for travel and organization.
I love watersports, from surfing to underwater adventures, and teaching drums to kids is a blast. Life’s even better with my three adorable kitties and a lively pup keeping me busy—it’s the perfect mix of fun and fulfillment.
Oh, come on, people! Just because my name is Polly Amora doesn’t mean I’m out here ticking off your cheeky assumptions. No judgment if that’s your thing —I respect it— but my heart is already booked on a one-way, croissant-filled journey with my French bae.

How often do you travel?
I aim to visit at least one new country and three different provinces in the Philippines every year. I’ve also got a soft spot for revisiting places I’ve already been—there’s something special about experiencing a familiar destination with fresh eyes. It’s not always about ticking off new spots; sometimes, it’s about deepening the connection with ones you already love.
What’s your favorite country aside from the Philippines?
Japan & France
Where are you from?
I’m from the Philippines.
How many languages can you speak?
I speak four languages (Filipino, English, French, & Russian).
Do you accept quest posting?
Unfortunately, I do not accept guest postings at this time.
What sources of income does your blog have?
I earn a modest commission through brand collaborations, affiliate marketing, and a sprinkle of ad revenue. It’s not a gold mine, but every little bit helps! And honestly, I’m so grateful to everyone who supports the blog—whether it’s by clicking a link, reading a post, or just cheering me on. It means the world!
What do you consider to be most rewarding aspect of being a travel blogger?
It’s the incredible feeling of knowing I’ve inspired someone to explore the world. Every time I receive a message saying my blog helped someone plan their trip or discover a destination they wouldn’t have found otherwise, it absolutely makes my day. Moments like those remind me why I do this—I’m not just sharing stories; I’m helping people create their own.
How much time do you put into writing content?
On average, I’d say about three hours per post—from brainstorming ideas to drafting the article and giving it a good polish. Some days the words flow like coffee in the morning, other days it’s a bit more of a wrestling match with the keyboard—but hey, that’s all part of the creative process.
Is blogging your main source of income? How do I start a blog that makes money?
I wish it were! But nope—I still have a full-time job and a few offline side hustles to keep the bills paid and the coffee flowing. Blogging is more of a passion project for now, though it does bring in a little income here and there.

I enjoy reading your blog and I am here more frequently than I comment. I shared your vacation posts too, thank you for sharing terrific information. I hope to see more good things from you.
Hi Tepid, thank you very much for reading and sharing my posts! I appreciate it alot! <3
I’ve just finished reading your whale shark watching post. I like the honesty that you put in it. My husband and I are planning to visit Oslob but after reading your post I don’t think I’ll ever have the heart to do so. I’ve read a few of your articles as well and all I can say is that you’re a breath of fresh air. People that only show the good stuff and want to create an image and seem like everything is always perfect. Keep it up!
Hi Cynthia! I find that my opinions can be off putting but I’d rather be straightforward than give them high hopes. People search the interwebs to get information and at least get an idea of what it’s like before they travel. For this blog, I offer nothing but honest opinions whether it’s good or bad – I’ll tell it as it is. Thank you very much for dropping by and reading my post! <3
I want to travel, but then I think about how racism and discrimination still exists, and it’s often hard for me to feel safe. I’m a total wimp, and my anxiety makes me terrified to even leave the house some days. Some days, it’s a fight just to get to the library, or to the grocery. I’m afraid I’ll never go the places I want to go and I don’t want to let it stop me from living my life. I’m Promise from Nigeria.
Hi Promise! I admire you for not wanting it to stop you. Anxiety is something that everyone experiences. Some people learn to control it, while others learn to live with less of it. But it is also something that you can overcome. It will take time, and it may take the support of family and friends. During my travels, I had no problems related to racism and everything went smoothly. For example, Italy and Spain, these countries are known for having racism issues. I met so many kind people from those countries, and that’s what I remember above all. I am not saying that racism and discrimination doesn’t exist but I think it would be unfair to judge a country based on one rotten tomato or what you see/hear without actually visiting the place. If you feel that you aren’t ready to travel, that’s totally fine. You don’t need to rush.

Hi Jae Hwa! Thank you for the offer. <3
I’m at awe at how dedicated you are with your website. I couldn’t imagine traveling, running a business and keeping your website updated all at the same time. Do you at least get something from this? I hope everything is going great for you!
Hi Cass! I found a way to balance everything – thank goodness! 😀 Do I get something from this? I do. Happiness. Hahaha! I earn from this but I’ll be allotting it to keeping this blog up and running. Thank you very much! <3
