Olim Restaurant Review
I found this little cafe called Olim on Google Maps when browsing for food in Nice. I had no idea what to expect, yet I was pleasantly delighted by this restaurant – location, food, and service.
Ambiance
The décor and setting have the feel of the famous French cafe culture, and it is well worth a visit. It has a “hipsterish” air as well, but altogether I felt relaxed while eating my breakfast.
Food
I chose the “Le Brunche de Mémé,” which cost only 20 euros (very cheap for such amazingly good quality food). It was absolutely delicious, and the most interesting part was that it was all served in jars. Even though the variety is limited, the quality of the food is excellent. The servings were also quite hefty.
Service
When I requested a glass of red wine early in the morning, Ramona, one of the staff, asked if I was celebrating. Of course, that was a half-joke, but I really needed a glass of wine that morning. I was highly pleased with the service since she was very friendly and prompt. She also asked if I wanted more Granola Croissant (for free).
I ate here twice and she remembered me from the previous day; I returned in the afternoon the next day and she asked if I still wanted that glass of red wine. Even the other staff, Tommy, was very accomodating. Everyone in there seemed to be really cheerful, and they all smiled a lot.
I enjoyed a very authentic French experience thanks to the staff and the food.
Overall
Honestly, I only have good things to say; the staff was really friendly, and the meal was wonderful. I was only searching for something to eat that morning, but this turned out to be more of an experience for me. I recommend it since it’s enjoyable.
