About the SEÑORITA

Hey there, fellow adventurers! I’m Polly Amora, the señorita behind Golden Island Señorita. A go-getter by day, and a wanderlust-fueled explorer by heart. As a dedicated general manager in the vibrant whirlwind of wholesale trade right here in Metro Manila, I can honestly say that I’m living my dream. But you know what else sets my soul on fire? Traveling the globe and immersing myself in new cultures, flavors, and experiences. I have no intention of hitting pause on my career to satisfy my wanderlust cravings. Why choose between two loves when you can have the best of both worlds?

When I’m not diving into the world of wholesale deals and negotiations, you’ll find me lost in the joys of writing and organizing. It’s like my creative fuel! That’s why I decided to bring this blog to life – Golden Island Señorita. Here, I spill all my travel secrets, from crafting epic itineraries to dishing out savvy budget tips. And hey, organizing isn’t just a hobby for me; it’s a way of life!

Oh, and when I’m not lost in the world of travel, you can catch me diving deep into the ocean as a freediving enthusiast, teaching kids how to play the drums, or satisfying my inner neat freak with some serious organizing skills. Plus, let’s not forget about my three adorable fur babies and my swoon-worthy French boyfriend – they add an extra sprinkle of joy to my already exciting life.

  1. Aww… No, don’t say that. 🙁 You have no idea how messy I am but I try to be a bit organized. A bit. 😀 Thank you very much! <3

  2. Thank you very much, Mary. <3 I'm so glad to have all of you and I'm truly grateful to have awesome people supporting me. I appreciate it alot. <3 <3

  3. Hi Polly, I like the honesty of your blog. What most travel bloggers have been doing for the past few years is selling a dream that has nothing to do with reality. I know this will ruffle some feathers. But encouraging people to sell everything to travel the world indefinitely is darn selfish. It’s a sales pitch. A very compelling one, but not a sustainable one. Keep it up!

    1. Hey Kate, thank you very much for dropping by. I’ve seen a lot of those and I don’t really agree with them. I guess the best practice is to not be like that. Thank you very much for the support! <3

  4. I’ve read some of your post and it made me click on your “About Me.” I’m highly impressed by how open and honest you are with your writings without sounding slanderous. Most “Influencers” try so hard to portray that they’re living the perfect life. I’ve seen travelers post misleading pictures of their vacation to make things appear to be better than they really are. I can see through BS and immediately click the “X” button after. I really like this blog. You’ve gained one more follower.

    1. Hi Jes, thank you very much for taking time to read my posts! I truly appreciate it! I refuse to call myself an influencer. Hahaha! I just enjoy traveling whenever I have time and share my experiences to hopefully help other travelers. Thank you very much for the support. <3

  5. Travel bloggers are the worst. I’m not a cynic and I personally know dozens of travel bloggers who are pretty nice people. My beef is with their line of work and the lack of value in it. It all started three or four years ago. I was hitting the Twitter travel chat scene pretty hard, excitedly exchanging pointless travel tips with other delirious “digital nomads” and “travel enthusiasts” (Really? Have you been to an airport lately?). After a couple of these travel chats, I began to develop a serious aversion to travel chats and the people (mostly travel bloggers) participating in them. Repeating the same nonsensical, generic travel advice over and over again. If I had a dollar every time one of these travel bloggers gave these answers to describe their most ideal, meaningful travel experiences, I’d be on the cover of Forbes right now. Why are these sentiments so obnoxious? Because they’re completely disingenuous and reveal a lack of self-awareness and delusions about the world. With that being said, I would like to commend you for being the REAL voice of travelers. One of the few genuine ones out there. I like that you do not promote this ‘I left my job to travel the world’ crap that’s totally unrealistic. Good job, Polly. You’re doing an outstanding service.

    1. Hi Earl, I’m so sorry that this happened to you and I can understand where you are coming from. I do agree, some travel bloggers seemed aren’t completely truthful and that they seemed not show the real score. That’s why I try to be as transparent as much as possible. I do not believe in ‘I left my job to travel the world’. Hahaha! I want to be able to secure myself (and my family) financially not just in the in present but also in the future. Travel blogging isn’t going to be a trend forever. Thank you very much for your kind words. It’s people like you who keeps me inspired to write more. ❤️
