About the SEÑORITA

Hi there, fellow adventurers! I’m Polly Amora, the señorita behind Golden Island Señorita. By day, I’m a driven manager in the fast-paced world of wholesale trade in Metro Manila, and by heart, I’m a globetrotter with a love for discovering new cultures, flavors, and experiences. Who says you have to choose between a thriving career and a passion for travel? Why not have both?

When I’m not sealing deals and traveling, you’ll find me writing, organizing, or pouring my travel secrets into this blog. From creating epic itineraries to sharing budget-friendly tips, Golden Island Señorita is where I combine my love for travel and organization.

I love watersports, from surfing to underwater adventures, and teaching drums to kids is a blast. Life’s even better with my three adorable kitties and a lively pup keeping me busy—it’s the perfect mix of fun and fulfillment.

Oh, come on, people! Just because my name is Polly Amora doesn’t mean I’m out here ticking off your cheeky assumptions. No judgment if that’s your thing —I respect it— but my heart is already booked on a one-way, croissant-filled journey with my French bae.

How often do you travel?
I aim to visit at least one new country and three different provinces in the Philippines every year. I’ve also got a soft spot for revisiting places I’ve already been—there’s something special about experiencing a familiar destination with fresh eyes. It’s not always about ticking off new spots; sometimes, it’s about deepening the connection with ones you already love.

What’s your favorite country aside from the Philippines?
Japan & France

Where are you from?
I’m from the Philippines.

How many languages can you speak?
I speak four languages (Filipino, English, French, & Russian).

Do you accept quest posting?
Unfortunately, I do not accept guest postings at this time.

What sources of income does your blog have?
I earn a modest commission through brand collaborations, affiliate marketing, and a sprinkle of ad revenue. It’s not a gold mine, but every little bit helps! And honestly, I’m so grateful to everyone who supports the blog—whether it’s by clicking a link, reading a post, or just cheering me on. It means the world!

What do you consider to be most rewarding aspect of being a travel blogger?
It’s the incredible feeling of knowing I’ve inspired someone to explore the world. Every time I receive a message saying my blog helped someone plan their trip or discover a destination they wouldn’t have found otherwise, it absolutely makes my day. Moments like those remind me why I do this—I’m not just sharing stories; I’m helping people create their own.

How much time do you put into writing content?
On average, I’d say about three hours per post—from brainstorming ideas to drafting the article and giving it a good polish. Some days the words flow like coffee in the morning, other days it’s a bit more of a wrestling match with the keyboard—but hey, that’s all part of the creative process.

Is blogging your main source of income? How do I start a blog that makes money?
I wish it were! But nope—I still have a full-time job and a few offline side hustles to keep the bills paid and the coffee flowing. Blogging is more of a passion project for now, though it does bring in a little income here and there.

  1. Polly you are so sweet and seem like an awesome girl! Thank you for being so positive, kind and inspiring! Whenever I see you in my email (yes im a subscriber) it lights up my whole day! You are a very special soul, and God loves you and the work that you are doing, and the love you are spreading to the world.

    1. Thank you so so much! I truly appreciate the love and support you all are giving me. <3

  2. Polly, hi. How did you get started with your business? Is it through blogging? I got fired from my full-time job in Croatia after I busted my leg. After my injury, they told me, “Don’t come to work.” I want to travel and have enough money for it. Regards, Filip.

    1. Hi Filip! I’m really sorry to hear that. 🙁 Getting started with the business and traveling is a broad topic which I will be writing a post soon. No, blogging isn’t my work/business. I hope you stick around. Or you can send me an email so we can further discuss it. Thank you for dropping by.

  3. I spoke with my daughter the other day and she told me that she wanted to quit her job to travel the world. She mentioned about being a digital nomad? I’m not familiar with the term but she got the idea after reading a few travel blogs. She’s an accountant in a well known company here in Idaho. She’s worked so hard to get to where she is now. I’m worried that she might just give up her career. I saw your post about traveling and running a business. I sent it to my daughter for her to read. I hope I could convince her. I’m just worried about her future. Thank you for listening to my rant.

    1. Hi Deshaun, I hope you’re well. Digital nomads are those who use the internet to earn a living and, more generally, conduct their life in a nomadic manner. Such workers often work remotely from foreign countries, coffee shops, public libraries, co-working spaces, etc. I heard that they earn tons of money from it (depends on the ‘online job’ that they get). I know a few digital nomads personally, but quite frankly I’m not impressed with how much they’re earning. I suggest if she really wants to pursue it, she should do a research. Compare how much she’s currently earning and how much she’s going to get from being a DM. She should set a long-term goal too. I hope everything goes well. And let me know what happens.

  4. well said polly.. indeed as individuals we must become independent..we also need mentors in society who done it and truly want to give back and see people truly evolve.. but it all begins with the inner eye becoming open to the true realities of why were put here and that purpose will drive us to becoming who we were designed to be as individuals in this amazing world..

    1. Thank you, Amira. <3 Mentoring is something that I wish I did a long time ago. I feel fulfilled whenever I'm able to help.
