About the SEÑORITA
Hi there, fellow adventurers! I’m Polly Amora, the señorita behind Golden Island Señorita. By day, I’m a driven manager in the fast-paced world of wholesale trade in Metro Manila, and by heart, I’m a globetrotter with a love for discovering new cultures, flavors, and experiences. Who says you have to choose between a thriving career and a passion for travel? Why not have both?
When I’m not sealing deals and traveling, you’ll find me writing, organizing, or pouring my travel secrets into this blog. From creating epic itineraries to sharing budget-friendly tips, Golden Island Señorita is where I combine my love for travel and organization.
I love watersports, from surfing to underwater adventures, and teaching drums to kids is a blast. Life’s even better with my three adorable kitties and a lively pup keeping me busy—it’s the perfect mix of fun and fulfillment.
Oh, come on, people! Just because my name is Polly Amora doesn’t mean I’m out here ticking off your cheeky assumptions. No judgment if that’s your thing —I respect it— but my heart is already booked on a one-way, croissant-filled journey with my French bae.

How often do you travel?
I aim to visit at least one new country and three different provinces in the Philippines every year. I’ve also got a soft spot for revisiting places I’ve already been—there’s something special about experiencing a familiar destination with fresh eyes. It’s not always about ticking off new spots; sometimes, it’s about deepening the connection with ones you already love.
What’s your favorite country aside from the Philippines?
Japan & France
Where are you from?
I’m from the Philippines.
How many languages can you speak?
I speak four languages (Filipino, English, French, & Russian).
Do you accept quest posting?
Unfortunately, I do not accept guest postings at this time.
What sources of income does your blog have?
I earn a modest commission through brand collaborations, affiliate marketing, and a sprinkle of ad revenue. It’s not a gold mine, but every little bit helps! And honestly, I’m so grateful to everyone who supports the blog—whether it’s by clicking a link, reading a post, or just cheering me on. It means the world!
What do you consider to be most rewarding aspect of being a travel blogger?
It’s the incredible feeling of knowing I’ve inspired someone to explore the world. Every time I receive a message saying my blog helped someone plan their trip or discover a destination they wouldn’t have found otherwise, it absolutely makes my day. Moments like those remind me why I do this—I’m not just sharing stories; I’m helping people create their own.
How much time do you put into writing content?
On average, I’d say about three hours per post—from brainstorming ideas to drafting the article and giving it a good polish. Some days the words flow like coffee in the morning, other days it’s a bit more of a wrestling match with the keyboard—but hey, that’s all part of the creative process.
Is blogging your main source of income? How do I start a blog that makes money?
I wish it were! But nope—I still have a full-time job and a few offline side hustles to keep the bills paid and the coffee flowing. Blogging is more of a passion project for now, though it does bring in a little income here and there.

Hi Polly I want to thank you so much for teaching me that failure should not to be feared but to overcome. You are a beautiful lady and yes maam, a hero for sharing your experiences with all of us! Have a nice night
I’m happy to hear that. Thank you very much. <3
you are so incredibly inspiring… people like you will change the world for better, I have no doubt!
Thank you very much. <3
Your story has impacted me in an extremely positive way. I too have depression and recently had to deal with what I would say were the most difficult symptoms from it. I felt very alone and just couldn’t accept the struggles I was facing. I’ve always been very in control of myself from all aspects, but during those times, I doubted myself completely. It was disappointing. Running into your blog inspired me and aided in turning that hopelessness into patience and perseverance. Thank you so much for your bravery to share and having such positive influence over me, my then situation, and now my every day. Keep doing what you are doing. It is much appreciated.
This is what you inspire in others. Give love, get love. I’m so glad I follow you and get to see all the love you give and get back. You’re changing people’s lives with love.
I’m happy that through my posts I’m able to touch lives. Thank you very much for your kind words. <3
I’m a 21 year old female, university student from UK who aspires to travel the world someday. I’d like to know how you got started and what preparations did you do? Thanks Polly. I love your blog.
Hi Cara, thank you for dropping by. I just graduated in college when I was 21. To be truthful with you, local travels in the Philippines are cheap it’s why I was able to go. With only 77.28 GBP, you can already travel (by land). But when I first traveled international most of the expenses were shouldered by my parents, particularly my plane tickets. I had an online shop but it was only good for my pocket money and accommodation. What I can suggest is, do a thorough research of the destination (this includes your accommodation, fare for public transpo, entrance fee, food, entrance fee of the spots that you’d like to visit). It’s best to allot extra money just in case of unforeseen expenses. Good luck! 🙂
