Through her dedication to her career, her family, and her love of travel, Mia is a true inspiration to all of us. So join me in celebrating this incredible woman, and let’s learn more about her journey and the impact she’s making in the world.
What made you start traveling?
I have seen a lot of beautiful places posted here in social media, Facebook, Instagram, etc.. and that’s what inspired me to travel and to see it for myself.
What do you do for a living?
I am currently working as a theater recovery nurse here in England. If you guys are wondering what theater recovery nurse is, Were the one who take care of patients after the surgery, it’s also called PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) in the US/Philippines.
What have been some of your favorite destinations? (Name at least 1-3 places)
I’ll start locally in the Philippines. First on my list is Coron Palawan that is located in the southern part of the Philippines. Why Coron? It’s crystal clear water, beautiful coral reefs and white sand beaches. It’s a good destination if you are into water sport like scuba diving, snorkeling or just fishing because of its rich marine life.
Second in my list is the City of love, Paris, France. It has always been my dream to see the Eiffel Tower up close and get to experience the magical place of Disneyland Paris with my family.
Last but obviously not the least is Switzerland especially in Grindelwald, the view of Swiss alps during winter is just spectacular and out of this world. Those 3 places were absolutely worth visiting so If you have not been and just planning to, you better go save and hurry to see it for yourself.
What has been the most interesting item of food you’ve tasted?
Honestly, I didn’t have the chance to explore variety of food that much due to having an 8 year old boy who’s quite a picky eater , we have to consider selection of food that will suit his taste as well . However, one thing I remember is a very Harry Potter experience when I tried that butter beer ice cream and the authentic butter beer when we visited the Warner bros studios, The Making of Harry Potter in London. It’s like having the taste of life of Harry Potter in real life so I definitely recommend trying those especially if you’re a fan.
If you could travel anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you go and why?
I will definitely go somewhere warmer this time if I get the chance to travel tomorrow because I just miss the beach so much. The last two countries I’ve been were just freezing. I’ll probably go to Greece, Morocco or Maldives and wear bikini again because why not?
What do you do when you are not traveling?
What people don’t see in between all the travels is me doing a lot of overtime to fund our next travel . On a regular day, I am full time mom and at the same time a full time nurse busy balancing both worlds. During free time or when I’m bored at home, I also look and find ways on how to spend the money wisely like finding cheap flights and accommodation to our target destination so I can prepare and stick within the budget.
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learnt from traveling?
Traveling taught me how to become more organized as I always plan everything myself and it made realized the it’s one of the best ways to maximize your time in this world. I also learned that traveling is like a drug that could be addicting but in a good way, once you start you it just don’t want to stop.
Do you have any advise or tips for aspiring travelers?
Advice I could give to those who want to start traveling is plan ahead, set goals and do your research of the place you want to go. Also, get a job that would sustain your travel needs, something that would not only give you good pay but a good balance between life and work. Remember, if you are only working to pay the bills, it is called surviving, not living. Make other people’s travel blogs or post on social media as a fuel to reach your target destinations and do everything in your power not to let those beautiful views sit in your imagination.
How can people find you on the internet/social media?
I mostly use Facebook Mia Raguindin Pascual and my IG account is “bhibones” but I just started post short travel clips on my son’s YouTube channel “Julian the Explorer”.
