Fun Culinary Games for Kids (and Kids at Heart)

How was your holiday? I had a great time spending the holidays with my family. My niece and nephews visited for a few weeks. One of the highlights of their trip was assisting me in the preparation of our Christmas dinner. Paige asked whether she could make a Mango Float with limited help, and I was impressed by my 9-year-old niece’s eagerness to learn.

She expressed an interest in running a Bubble Tea Shop when I took her to a nearby shop. She even befriended the owner, and when we returned the next day (at her request), she was given a complimentary Chocolate Milktea since the owner liked her bubbly personality. When we went home, she asked her father (my brother) to get her supplies, which we bought the next day and became her first customer. It was the most adorable thing I’d ever seen.

Happy Kiddo ❤️

I came across CulinarySchools.Org, which offers a variety of cooking and baking games from Arcade Classics, Physics Puzzles to Memory & Matching games which Paige truly enjoyed. I have to say, it gave her a feel of what it’s like to have her own Bubble Tea Shop.

When I’m not out surfing the waves, I’m surfing the interwebs. You can check out some of my awesome discoveries here and here.

Merge Cakes – Drag one cake onto another cake of the same type, and a new cake recipe will appear. There are a variety of delicious sweets to discover and collect. Moreover, even when you are not connected to the internet, the game continues to play, guaranteeing that you always have rewards to look forward to.

CulinarySchools.Org isn’t just about games, in fact, it’s a one-stop source for everything culinary as you can read relevant topics related to the Culinary Arts.

Another amazing tool that I grew to love is the Ingredient Conversion Tool. As someone who enjoys baking, I know that some instructions can be vague and that most measurements are in metric, so it’s a good idea to keep conversion charts or calculators on hand.

Tipping isn’t customary in our country, but because wages are so low, it’s normal for individuals to kindly round up the bill. Here in the Philippines, we do not have a strong tipping culture so leaving gratuity is up to you. Unless a charge is included in the bill or the service is really poor, the general rule is to leave a 5-10% tip. At least, that’s what I try to do.

A tool that I find useful in this regard is the Tip Calculator. All you have to do is enter the total amount, the number of persons dividing the bill, and the percentage you wish to give the server. If you are happy with the service, a 15% tip is standard.

I’m glad I discovered this hidden gem as it kept my niece and nephews entertained during their stay. It also gave my niece a taste of what it would be like to manage her own Bubble Tea Shop, which she was quite enthusiastic about.
