La Route Du Miam serves local recipes from the southwest of France; the duck dish is well-known for being both delicious and fairly priced. Considering the small venue, this restaurant usually requires an early reservation. I was lucky because Marie, being the warm host, arranged for me to eat there the next day. The comfortable atmosphere at La Route Du Miam allows customers to relax and enjoy themselves.

Food

I thoroughly enjoyed every single bite of the meal at La Route Du Miam. I had Demi caneton croisé colvert farci à périgourdine and a couple of drinks.

The duck was so tender and juicy on the inside and the skin was crispy and flavorful, everything melted in my mouth in one bite. The stuffing, a family recipe according to Marie, was simply superb, rich and tasty, and decadent. The foie gras and potatoes topped off an already over-the-top dish and by the end, I was bursting from all the delicious food.

The price is reasonable when compared to the quality. Ideal for individuals looking to explore French cuisine or couples who wants a romantic night out.

Service

The owners, Marie and Jean-Michel are wonderful people, and the service feels very personal; they got to know you, and it was like visiting relatives for a dinner, only the food was outstanding.

Overall

Coming here is not only a great culinary experience but I got to meet the chef, Jean-Michel and thanked him profusely. It is not a restaurant, it is a life experience. Truly an authentic place – should be mandatory for anyone looking for real French cuisine in Nice.
